    1_SCAR plus A Crisp Sound mean MECHANICAL VALVE.

    2_Expect Soft ESM in MITRAL & AORTIC Mechanical Valves.

    3a_SHARP CLOSING SOUND at S1:MITRAL(ball or disc valve)

    3b_SHARP CLOSING SOUND at S2:AORTIC(dISC or bILEAFLET valve)

    4a_3a plus SHARP MITRAL OPENING SOUND after S2:Mitral BALL Valve

    4b_SHARP AORTIC OPENING SOUND:Aortic BALL Valve

    AND……..

    Loud Systolic Murmur in prosthetic mitral valve

    Diastolic Murmur in prosthetic aortic valve

    MEANS failure.

    In a case with midline sternotomy scar without venous stripping in leg, how could you differentiate between LiMA graft,valve repair and bioprosthetic valve?

    It’s obviously too much technical when I started posting it.

    In heated exam setting:
    Click is loud enough to hear once we observe the patient.
    Metallic 1st Sound means Mitral & 2nd means Aortic valve Repalcement.
